It’s summer time. Unfortunately, it’s also “cancer time”

I know my guest bloggers are supposed to be posting this week but I had something I wanted to share and my blog seemed the best place to do it. So, I apologize for pre-empting Cathy Adair’s post but it will be up next week – I promise.

Recently, two things happened.

First, one of my dear colleagues in the Canadian Cancer Society was diagnosed with malignant melanoma. And then, on the heels of this news, I find out that another local colleague has had a recurrence in her cancer.

So, for some this might be the most beautiful, laid back, time of the year. But someone forgot to tell cancer to take a hike!

I’m just one of many on “cancer time” this summer – time spent thinking about those we know who are on a cancer journey.

Doesn’t it make our cause and our organization even more urgent and important? I know it does for me.

Join us – and join the fight.
